INTERPRETATION: RUSH HOUR CRUSH
Our fourth meeting started by going over the script that Walter had written and discussed it. There had been a misunderstanding regarding the details of the plot that had been discussed in the previous meeting, meaning the the script that had been drafted up did not coincide with the agreed plot by the whole group. After discussing how the misunderstanding had occurred, we quickly made note of key plot points that we wanted included so that the script could be rewritten for the next day and finalised.
Our next port of call was organising a shoot day that we could all attend aswell as giving Brenda and others enough time to edit the film to a good standard. We decided that Friday 19th February was a good day for all of us and it we filmed in the morning, we would have footage ready to show at our group tutorial that afternoon if needed (starting at 2:45pm). We agreed on a 9AM
start and planned to finish by 2PM.
The next thing we discussed was the possibility of incorporating text in the film in order to make editing easier. It would not be easy to have the advert we wanted physically printed in the paper, so we discussed options to avoid showing the actual Rush-Hour Crush article. These included using text on-screen that noted the 'advert' or using a voice over to read the advert out instead.
We also discussed actors and the fact that we needed to start messaging potential people to help us out or put out a casting call, which would both be done that night as the time schedule was extremely short. We planned when we would meet next, which would be the next day, in order to finalise the script and other details.
The next thing we needed to sort was a
location for the shoot because we needed a bus stop that was not too busy, in order to give us the freedom we needed to film, but also was not too far away to save on travel expense. Brenda mentioned a bus stop close to the university campus that would be quite and suitable so it was marked down as a preliminary shoot location.
We finished the meeting by deciding on the use of a soundscape that we would record on location as potential background noise in order to keep continuity. We also planned on using a Canon 5D or 60D from the camera stores, depending on what was available.
