Our first production meeting revolved around narrowing the most suitable articles down to be the base for a film piece. We chose four separate stories to further discuss and plan ideas for and would then later on choose a final project basis and research topic.

presentation for a short film on the subject, we decided that the most suitable genre would be a drama.

The second article we found detailed the story of three men (all either 19 or 20) who killed a 14-year old boy in Cumbria over jealousy of his girlfriend, who was also 14.

We discussed possible interpretations of this story but decided that the subject was too serious to become anything but a drama or documentary.

The first was a brief article about celebrity Gwyneth Paltrow and an ongoing battle that she is fighting against a stalker of hers who has been harrassing her for years. We decided that as the case has been going on for 17 years, there would be plenty of information and research to be involved which would make it a suitable topic. After a quick discussion about plot and 

The third article that interested us was the daily 'Rush-Hour Crush' feature. It details confessions of rush-hour commuters that are sent in, detailing when they find a stranger attractive or develop a crush on them from afar. We discussed several concepts on this topic and the possible genres that we came up with for a short film piece were comedy and drama or possibly a mixture of the two.

The fourth and final article that we discussed detailed the story of a leopard that found it's way into a school in India and mauled at least three people as it tried to escape. The most popular genre from our discussion of this topic was a mixture of thriller and satirical comedy.
